For several years the Golden Visa (GV) has attracted foreign investors to Portugal. This program granted the right of residency, without being mandatory for the applicant to live in Portugal permanently (and thus, to be a tax resident).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The program enables the visa holder to request the Portuguese citizenship after five years of legal residency, if the Portuguese language is learned. Some of the GV options are now excluded from the program but there are still interesting options available.
